I’m an amateur demographer who, for the past decade plus, has researched and written about how declining birth rates are affecting school enrollment and financial sustainability. During a recent nerd-out session of researching for fun I came across a graph that piqued my curiosity and provoked me to go down the rabbit hole with Chat-GPT. What I found was a cupcake-shaped future projection that could have deadly consequences.
